Custodial history

Scope and content

File contains photographs of the people watching machinery working at the Saskatoon landfill. The Star Phoenix on July 19, 1955 reported that "some members of Council intend to watch sanitary land-fill demonstrations Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and afternoons [July 19 and 20] of topsoil stripping, prepearation of trenches, filling and compacting" south of of Grand Trunk Bridge. In the afternoon, a demonstration of collapsing automobile bodies and covering over refuse was to take place at the Warman Road nuisance grounds. Firms seeking contracts for the equipment were putting on the demonstration.
