The City of Saskatoon Archives is a public institution with a mandate to preserve, maintain and provide access to the historical records of the City of Saskatoon and its predecessor bodies, as well as to the records of selected individuals, families, groups and organizations deemed to be significant to an understanding of the history of Saskatoon and area. It acts both to support the administrative and legislative functions of the Corporation of the City of Saskatoon as well as to be a public information resource. The Archives is a component of the Office of the City Clerk.
Primarily records of the corporation of the City of Saskatoon but also including some related private records. Collections include:
Uncatalogued records at the present time include: City Clerks' records ca. 1960-1983; City Comptroller's and City Treasurer's office records; Public Works photographs (1930s-1970s); Leisure Services photographs (primarily 1980s); along with some early financial ledgers and other material.
Extent: 640 linear metres of textual records; ca 7,000 photographs
