Photographs show Saskatchewan "Heritage Year" activities and events commemorating the 100th anniversary of the start of the Northwest Resistance in Duck Lake, Sask. Included are images of square dancing, Indigenous round dance, navy cadets, and of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. There is also the presentation of a memorial that reads, "Site of the first shot fired upon Metis people, thus beginning the Northwest Resistance, March 26, 1885". Photos were taken on March 25, 1985. [Published March 26, 1985]
