Bereik en inhoud

Dr. Sergey Fedoroff and Elaine Martin (Mrs. Fedoroff) at work in the Medical Lab in the College of Medicine.

Bio/Historical Note: A proud alumna of the University of Saskatchewan, Muriel (Elaine) Fedoroff (1927-2014) graduated with an Honours Bachelor's degree in Biological and Medical Science. It was as a demonstrator in the Department of Anatomy that she met her husband-to-be, Sergey Fedoroff. She was the backbone of Sergey's accomplishments when he served as head of the Department of Anatomy and as he became an internationally acclaimed neuroscientist. Elaine not only assisted him in learning English but edited his endless correspondence and his 15 published scientific books and hundreds of research papers. Elaine loved languages and was an accomplished writer in her own rite, producing an award winning radio story for the CBC and writing an extensive family genealogy. She was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Faculty Wives Book Club for over 60 years. Elaine Fedoroff died in 2014; her husband predeceased her in 2012.
