The store was built in 1904 by George Senzen Davidson and used as a hardware store before selling it in 1910 to John Tuffnell who ran a men's clothing store there. Tuffnell's clothing store was originally in the Peltier Block (see IHM.2021.0032). (See Indian Head History Book p37 and Indian Head Heritage Tour Book p46)
