Biographical history
E. Arthur Clark was born in Yorkton on 31 August 1939. He completed a B.A. Honours degree in Psychology at the U of S in 1963, a year later earning a M.A. He went to McMaster University where, under the supervision of Abraham Black, he specialized in learning and motivation, earning a Ph.D. in 1970. Dr. Clark’s first appointment at the U of S was as an Assistant Professor in Psychology in 1969. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1975 and served as Department Head from 1986 to 1992. His most significant contributions were as a teacher and an administrator. He served on many college and university committees, and chaired both Student Academic Affairs Committee and the Department of Psychology Undergraduate Committee. Clark was also instrumental in the establishment of the off campus courses in psychology delivered through the Extension Department. He died on 27 March 1995.
