Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Christopher James Langbourne Lind (born 1953) was educated at Appleby College, Oakville, and at Tonbridge School in Kent, England. He earned a BA from York University, an MDiv from Trinity College (Toronto) and a PhD in Theology from the University of St. Michael's College (Toronto), specializing in Ethics and Economics. From 1985 until 2003 Dr. Lind was based in Saskatoon, first as Professor of Church & Society and then as President of St. Andrew's Theological College. From 2000 to 2003 he served as President of the amalgamated St. Andrew's College and St. Stephen's College in Saskatoon and Edmonton, sponsored by the United Church of Canada. Prior to leading the Sorrento Centre, Dr. Lind was Director of the Toronto School of Theology, one of the largest and most diverse ecumenical theological cooperatives in North America. At the time of his death he was Executive Director of Sorrento Centre, an Anglican Church retreat and conference centre at Sorrento, British Columbia. Dr. Lind died in Vancouver on 11 July 2014.
