C.W. Holmes was the editor of the Rosetown Eagle weekly newpaper for 38 years. He was the Mayor of Rosetown from 1917 to 1935 and in spite of war time losses in tax base he kept all public services intact. The mill rate went from 12 to 35 and the business licenses came in. Later this proved to be wise. He died in 1960.
