A duo-tang containing an 11-page (single-sided) biography of Alexander McCaughan, a young Irishman, who had come to Indian Head and then enlisted with the Canadian Army and fought in WWI.

Alexander McCaughan was born in North Antrim, Ireland, in 1892. He came to Indian Head in or prior to 1914, joining his cousin John (Jack) Lyons, who had come in 1910 (or earlier). They were related to Rev. Thomas McAfee, the Presbyterian minister, who was also from Antrim, Ireland. Both Alexander and Jack joined the Canadian army in late1914. Jack died at Ypres and Alexander was wounded twice. He came back to Indian Head in 1919 and then returned to Ireland. Rev. McAfee was a chaplain during WWI (see Indian Head History Book pp 518-519).
