Typed on a piece of paper stored with photograph: "Jack and Vera Gartner met in England in the early Spring of 1945, on the Althershot Military base, where they were stationed. They were married in September 1945. jack came home to Biggar in February 1946, and Vera followed him in June 1946. They had one son, and spent the next 47 years sharing a life that included their family, their home on third ave. east, and their avid enthusiasm for golfing. Vera passed away in 1992."
