Administrative history
Unity Pastoral charge was formed in 1925, as a new United Church charge, containing preaching points at Unity, Wasteena, Belton, and Ruth. Later preaching points in the charge included Phippen and Scott. By 1951, the charge comprised just Unity and Scotstown. The name was changed to Unity-Meridian Pastoral Charge around 1983 and Evesham preaching point was added (moved from Battleford Pastoral Charge, September 8, 1983), alongside Swarthmore, Senlac and Unity. The congregations at Swarthmore and Unity amalgamated, November 23, 2007, as Unity United Church.
Custodial history
Original provenance for many of the records in the fonds is unclear. Initial items were transferred to the archives between 1925 and 1986. Further accruals were received by Saskatchewan Conference archives in 1991, 1992 and 2016.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of textual materials generated by Unity Pastoral Charge, Unity-Meridian (Shared Ministry) Pastoral Charge, their predecessors and constituent churches – the boards, committees and related bodies, local women’s units and other groups.
Contents include: minutes of church boards, Parish Council, sessions, stewards, congregational, Sunday School and Christian Education Committee meetings; meetings of local Ladies Aid Societies and Woman’s Association (W.A.) groups from Evesham, and Women’s Missionary Society (W.M.S.) and United Church Women (U.C.W.) groups from Unity and Wasteena; church histories; historic rolls, membership lists and directories; financial records and annual reports; and registers of baptisms, marriages and burials held at Unity, Evesham, Adanac, Senlac, Swarthmore, and related locations.

Arrangement
Original order for many of these records is unclear. Items under A.381.XV were arranged and listed as local church records sometime before 1990, with various others under XV.SA added in batches, in 1991 and 1992. The most recent batch, under A.1109.XV.SR was listed, described and added ca.2018. The fonds was created in 2021, to include records previously listed and any new accruals.
