A computer printout of Trever Bergfeldt's Valedictorian speech (98.530.334C) is stored with the photograph: "Good evening Chairpersons, Teachers, parents, Friends, and fellow Graduates. Graduation is an important milestone in our lives. It signifies a beginning and an end. A beginning to our new lives as adults, where we must take charge, make decisions, and deal with the consequences, whether they are good or bad. An end to our lives at home with our parents, where they were always there to help us and guide us, whether we wanted them to or not. Tonight will probably be the last time our whole class will be together as a whole. By the fall, we will all be going our separate ways, following our individual paths for success and happiness. We will always have one thing in common though. We were the 1990 Graduating Class of BCHS. This school has become a home to each and every one of us, whether we've been here for six years or just one year. We've spent just about as much time here as we have at home, and it has prepared us well for our future endeavors. we have succeeded in getting this far, and will continue to succeed in everything we put our minds to. Life will not always be clear sailing, but as long as we know where our compass is pointed, we will be sure to make it there. On behalf of the 1990 Graduating Class of BCHS, I would like to thank some very important people. first, our families. They have always been there for us. They have been our own private cheering section. In victory or defeat, there was always somebody there cheering us on and never letting anything get the best of us. Secondly, our teachers deserve a thank-you. At times, we may not have shown you our appreciation, but without you, we would not be up here today. You have taught us well. Thirdly, we must thank our friends. Whether the need was for biology questions to copy, or for someone to confide in, they have always been there. We have been through a lot together, but tonight has to be the best of all. All of these people: our families, our teachers, and our friends, have has an important part in our lives in one way or another, and have helped us to become who we are today. i would like to extend special congratulations to our three exchange students this year. Igor, Patrik, and Klaus. it has taken a lot of courage to come to a foreign country to go to school. I'm sure they will go home with fond memories of Canada. We have enjoyed them in our class. Our futures are in our hands and it is up to us to follow our dreams and make them happen. Strive to be the best you can be, and don't ever let anyone tell you that you are not good enough. Good luck to all my fellow Graduates in whatever you choose to do. We'll be great out there!! Thank-you."
