Information provided by Doug Richards: "Queen Visit 1939. Pictures Taken at Ava, Sask. Ava is situated on CNR South (From Biggar) Mile 38. Jack Cooper Section Foreman Rolled up sleeves on his shirt. Ava station house is presently situated on the Doug Richards farm South West of Ruthilda. People went to Ava by car to await the arrival of steam powered locomotive and coaches then on to Biggar to see the King and Queen. Today (Jan 2000) there isn't any single sign of there ever was a station or elevator. Rails removed in 1986."
