Scope and content
The Saskatchewan Bulletin May 1963, p. 23; "Robert de Sorbon first found (sic) institution La Sorbonne, which bears his name, in the 13th century on its present sight on La Rive Gauche, as a school for theological students. The grimy, unprepossessing gate and facade shown here and the church adjoining are the oldest and only remaining part of the buildings re-built by Richelieu in 1635 to replace the original ones of Sorbon."
