Administrative history
The first adjudicated music festival took place in Swift Current in 1930, and these festivals have continued ever since, even during war years. G.E. Bowers and Dorthea Horton were named President and Secretary-Treasurer in 1931.
Custodial history
On December 6, 2001, November 28, 2002, January 13, 2004 and September 10, 2004, the records were transferred to the Swift Current Museum.

The fonds, related to the Swift Current Music Festival Association, were accumulated by the source. No other information was captured at the time of transfer to the Swift Current Museum.
