General note
Pumpsie played for the Indian Head Rockets in 1951 and later went on to play for various teams in the USA before becoming the first Black player to join the Boston Red Sox from 1959 to 1962 and then the New York Mets in 1963.
A caption under the photographs reads: "The first black player to play third base for the Boston Red Sox was Pumpsie Green. The first black player to play for the St. Louis Cardinals was Tom Alston. Both of these men played for the Indian Head Rockets in 1951. Indian Head hosted Canada's Greatest Ball Tournaments for eight years during the glorious barnstorming years."
