Bio/Historical Note: Susan Whiting, professor of Nutrition, received her PhD in nutrition from the University of Guelph and had postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia. After teaching at Mount Saint Vincent University for 6 years, Whiting moved to the University of Saskatchewan where she has worked for 30+ years. She is one of the original investigators of the Saskatchewan Pediatric Bone Mineral Accrual Study, which has followed hundreds of Saskatchewan elementary school children for over 25 years. In 2012 she was awarded the Canadian Nutrition Society’s McHenry Award for Distinguished Service in Nutrition in Canada.
