Head and shoulders image of Dr. Ken McCallum, professor and department head of Chemistry, 1942-1967.
Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Kenneth J. (Ken) McCallum earned his BSc' in 1936,and his MSc in 1939. He was a professor and department head in Chemistry at the University of Saskatchewan from 1942-1967, as well as dean of Graduate Studies from 1970-1984. Dr. McCallum established the first 14C radiocarbon dating lab in Canada, used by anthropologists and archaeologists to establish age of artifacts, and for evaluating wheat grown in regions near atomic bomb testing. Dr. McCallum died in Saskatoon in 1997.
