Head and shoulders passport photo of Dr. Garth Packota, Assistant Professor, Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences, College of Dentistry.
Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Garnet Packota received his DMD from the University of Saskatchewan. After several years of general dental practice, he entered the Oral Radiology graduate specialty program at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He is a former faculty member of the College of Dentistry, U of S, where he taught oral radiology to dental students and had an intramural oral and maxillofacial radiology practice. Dr. Packota also taught portions of oral radiology courses to undergraduate dental students at the University of Alberta for several years. He has authored or co-authored articles in several peer-reviewed journals and has given presentations and lectures to various dental organizations within Canada and internationally. Dr. Packota retired from his university position in 2018 and was granted the position of Professor Emeritus in the College of Dentistry.
