"A number of people with present or past connections with the U of S gathered together in Government House, Regina, last spring after ceremonies receiving them into the Order of Canada. From l to r: Graham Spry, Saskatchewan's Agent General for 21 years; Irene Spry, former Visiting Associate Professor of Economics at the Saskatoon campus ('67-'68); the Right Honorable Lester B. Pearson, who received the first honourary LL.D. awarded at Regina; Dr. J.W.T. Spinks, president of the University; Mary Spinks; Dr. Samuel Laycock, Professor Emeritus of Education; Mrs. Kenneth (Joanne) Lochhead; Frances Hyland, graduate in drama from the Saskatoon campus; and Kenneth Lochhead, former head of the Art Department at the Regina Campus."
