Historia administrativa
The idea for the Moose Jaw Camping Club was conceived on November 15, 1975 at the King George School. On November 29, 1975 the group met and elected Lee Hack as President, Bud Johnson as Vice President, and Linda Reaume as Secretary. Club guidelines were also created.
In 1976, Lee Hack resigned as President and Tom Harris was elected to replace him. Decals for trailers and crests for jackets were ordered, and fees of $5.00 per person and $10.00 per family we set.
Bill Reaume was elected as President in 1977, and the first campout was held at Buffalo Pound Lake on May 29th. In September 1977, the decals were enlarged and a Moose was added to them. In 1979, name tags were created and given to members.
A small, hollowed toy bear referred to as the “birthday bear” was created to add funding to the club; on a member’s birthday, a member was required to add a cent for every year of their birth.
The club celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2005 with a barbeque at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Wakamow Valley. A large banner commemorating the event was created.
As a result of declining membership and health of its members, the Moose Jaw Camping Club disbanded at their last meeting held on June 6, 2014.
