Middle Lake School District #2271 was approved by the Department of Education in 1909, with a school to be built 55 rods south of the centre stake and 16 rods along road of section 10 and 11, Township 41, Range 23, W 2nd. A new school was built in 1937 within 200 yards of the centre of the west side of the southwest quarter of 2-41-23 W 2nd. The school closed – circa 1962
