Bio/Historical Note: Extension work was begun at the University of Saskatchewan in 1910 when the Minister of Agriculture, W.R. Motherwell, sent his superintendent of fairs and institutes, F.H. Auld, to head the Extension Department. Through the support of the College of Agriculture and the Extension Department, rural men and women were reached with such events and activities as the Better Farming Train and the Homemakers' Clubs.
