This fonds contains materials pertaining to the writing, planning and production of Diefenbaker’s 80th Birthday Party in 1975. Specifically, it includes handwritten and typed notes, correspondence, photographs, slides, film and audio reels, and some clippings. The film includes footage gathered and created for the event (including new interviews with John and Olive Diefenbaker) as well as the finished product as presented during the birthday gala.

A typescript copy of Mystic Leaves or Thesis on Playing Cards (Copyright 1914). The illustrations in the book are by H.F. Boyce. (Total 92 pages). The purpose of the book is to present a consecutive account of the early history of cards and their connection with modern playing cards.

The documentation is comprehensive, covering a number of subjects and organizations, and provides a valuable record of circumpolar life across several nations. In addition to the physical items, it includes a website, www.walterslipchenko.com which provides further information on the scope of the report and the development of international, circumpolar relationships.

These activities included a one act play, and a cultural tour which featured local talents and visited Saskatoon, North Battleford, Prince Albert, and Humboldt. A night of music and dance was also on offer.
