Head and shoulders image of Dr. Herbert Peters, professor of Educational Psychology.

Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Herbert Daniel Peters was born 2 December 1934 in Moloshevka, Ukraine and grew up on a farm near Lacombe, Alberta. He was baptized in 1945 at the Bergthal Mennonite Church in Didsbury, Alberta. Dr. Peters attended several post-secondary institutions including the Canadian Mennonite Bible College (CMBC) (ThB, 1950), Arizona State at Flagstaff (MA, 1957) and University of Alberta (PhD, 1961). Dr. Peters was ordained as a minister and worked with the Hopi in Arizona. For his rest of his professional career, he would take a special interest in training aboriginal educators. In 1961 Dr. Peters joined the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan. He retired as head and Professor Emeritus in 1986. Herbert Peters died 15 May 2014 in Saskatoon at age 89.
