Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Denis A. Goulet holds MA degrees in Philosophy (St. Paul's College, 1956) and Social Planning (IRFED, Paris, 1960) and a PhD in Political Science from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (1963). Dr. Goulet, a pioneer in the interdisciplinary study of development ethics, has conducted field research in Algeria, Lebanon, Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Sri Lanka and Mexico. He has held visiting professorships in Canada (University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon), the United States (Indiana University and University of California), France (IRFED), Brazil (University of Pernambuco), and Poland (Warsaw University). Publications include eleven books and over 160 articles and monographs. Dr. Goulet is Professor Emeritus, O'Neill Chair in Education for Justice, Department of Economics, and Faculty Fellow of Kellogg Institute for International Studies and Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, University of Notre Dame (2015).
