In 1977, Duncan Robertson was commissioned by the Diocese of Saskatoon to prepare a chronological history of the diocese as part of the celebrations of the fiftieth anniversary of the diocese in 1983. The Sword of St. Paul: A History of the Diocese of Saskatoon 1933-1983 was published in 1982. The Duncan Robertson fonds contains the research materials used in the preparation of the book. From 1983 to 1988, Robertson conducted research into the life and career of Fr. Alexis André, OMI and wrote an article on this topic for publication in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography.
