There is a newspaper clipping with the photograph which reads: "Saskatchewan Rye To Be Exhibited In England The Winter Rye here shown is a portion of the crop of Dr. S. E. Shaw, of Biggar, Sask. This Rye has been selected by the Department of Immigration for exhibition in the Canadian immigration Building in London, where it will be seen by thousands of prospective settlers. 2,400 sheaves of Brome Grass, Alfalfa, Rye and Sweet Clover on Dr. Saw's farm were chosen by the Department after an examination of numerous other specimens in all parts of the West."
