Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Mark Evered holds a BSc in biology (McMaster University) and a PhD in medical physiology (University of Western Ontario). He has held teaching, research and administrative positions at universities in three provinces and three countries, including Cambridge University (as a Fellow of the Canadian Medical Research Council), the University of Western Ontario, the University of Saskatchewan, the Howard Florey Research Institute of the University of Melbourne, and Thompson Rivers University. Dr. Evered served as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Fraser Valley from 2009 to 2017.
