Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Robert Bruce Shepard was born 17 February 1950 in Winnipeg, He obtained an BA (1972) and a BA with honours (1973) from the University of Regina. He earned an MA from the University of Saskatchewan in 1976. Dr. Shepard served as manager, Western Development Museum, Saskatoon (1978-1980); manager, Government House History Park, Regina (1981-1982); administrative analyst (1983-1984), and policy analyst (1984-1988), both with the Government of Saskatchewan, Regina. He was appointed superintendent, Fort Calgary (Alberta) History Park, in 1988. Dr. Shepard earned his PhD in Canadian Plains Studies from the U of R in 1994. He was museum curator for the City of Medicine Hat by 2011, and was retired by 2023. Dr. Shepard is president of the South Eastern Alberta Archaeological Society of Alberta (2023).
