Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Agnes Sawchyn completed her training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan in 1992, with emphasis on interpersonal/psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural models of assessment and intervention. Dr. Sawchyn has provided psychological assessment and psychotherapy services in outpatient settings for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, pain management, post-traumatic stress, sequelae of child sexual abuse, grief, and relationship difficulties. She has extensive experience working with military members and veterans, members of the RCMP and municipal police departments, and clients adjusting to injury or illness. Former placements include psychologist and director at Student Counseling Services at the University of Saskatchewan, and clinical psychologist with Mental Health Services in Whitehorse, Yukon, where she was responsible for developing and implementing mental health services for children and adolescents. Dr. Sawchyn is on staff at Vancouver Island Psychological Services in Victoria, British Columbia (2021).
