Bio/Historical Note: Dr. David Michael Parkinson was born near Toronto. He earned a BA at Western University in Ontario, and a BEd in teaching English and an MA in English, both at the University of Toronto. Later Dr. Parkinson did a Masters degree in Teaching English for Specific Purposes at Exeter University in England. He worked in Japan for 10 years teaching English to company employees. Dr. Parkinson has managed educational programs in Japan, Canada, New Zealand and Samoa. He was a partner in a consulting company in Toronto that helped Canadian companies to do business overseas. Dr. Parkinson also completed a certificate in cross-cultural communications from the University of British Columbia and a Business Administration Certificate from the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Parkinson has been the director of the Language Centre since 2000, and has worked and travelled in over 30 countries (2021).
