The Saskatchewan Bulletin, April 1953, p. 1 "DEAN LAYCOCK: LIFE MEMBER. Curious thing said Eric Chappell in honouring Dr. S. R. Laycock with the STF Life Membership: 'The dean has been a teacher in Saskatchewan for better than twenty years, and never was a member of the STF!' In response, Dr. Laycock acknowledged the honour and once again told his listeners: 'I am proud to be called a Teacher!'"
