City of North Battleford Historic Archives
The City of North Battleford Historic Archives Committee collects historic papers, documents and photographs depicting the history of the City of North Battleford, works to house these materials in accordance with archival preservation standards, and is available upon request for research projects.
Collections of various sizes and types of textual materials, ledgers of organizations,scrapbooks of organizations, extensive newspaper clippings, school yearbooks, telephone books,and over 7,000 photographs. The larger collections include: Lorne Cooper Collection (700 items consisting of photographs, negatives, and newspaper materials), Les Guthrie Collection (500 photographic items with scrapbooks and negatives), Balych Collection (Alec & Pearl) consisting of photographs of local businesses, programs for the Ukrainian Dance Festivals and a large volume of textual materials (e.g. newspaper clippings).
Extent: approximately 12,000 items
Inclusive dates: 1908-present
Summer hours - May to August, 8:00-16:30; otherwise access to the Archives is made through arrangements at City Hall.
