Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Bryce John Sallans was born in 1901. He earned a BA (McMaster), a BSA (Manitoba) and an MSc (Saskatchewan) before 1933. Dr. Sallans also earned a PhD from Wisconsin. By 1931 he was on staff at the Dominion Laboratory of Plant Pathology, Research Branch, Canada Department of Agriculture, Saskatoon, eventually becoming head by 1960. Dr. Sallans died in 1974.
