Algemene aantekening
Broadway, south side, in 1903 or 1904. What appears to be a street at the right is actually the extension of the lane back of the Balmoral Hotel which at that time came through to Broadway and was a busy thoroughfare. There was no 3rd. avenue south at that time. The first branch of the Bank of British North America- later absorbed by the Bank of Montreal- opened in the angular building at the right center in 1903. A member of the North West Mounted Police is seen driving a horse and cutter which was one form of transportation used by the police force at that time. The Anglican Church built in 1898, is seen at the end of the street.
