Head and shoulders of Dr. Bob Kavanagh, Vice President (Academic).

Bio/Historical Note: Dr. Robert N. (Bob) Kavanagh was born and raised in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and attended primary and secondary school there. He attended the University of Saskatchewan from 1960 to 1966, obtaining a BS (Electrical Engineering) and MSc (Biomedical Engineering). Dr. Kavanagh then attended the California Institute of Technology and obtained a PhD in Information Science in 1972. He returned to the U of S as an assistant professor of Computational Science from 1971-1978, and also served as director of Academic Computing Services. From August 1986 to May 1992 he was associate vice-president of Information Technology Services. In 1992 Dr. Kavanagh was associate vice-president and director, Department of Computing Services. He was also associate professor of Computer Science. Kavanagh served as a member of the Board of Directors of TRLabs Inc., and as a director of the Health Systems Support Group in Saskatchewan and the Apple Canada Education Foundation. Kavanagh is chair of Saskatchewan Research Network Inc. (2022).
