General note
Information provided by Brenda Kelly in 2022: "The photo is of an old softball team from the Biggar Royals in 1945. The team consisted of players around the area as one being my own mother, Audrey ( Burwell) Johnson ,that travelled from Asquith to play.( bottom far left in the top photo) . The fifth person from the left in the top row for the Aces appears to be Muriel Coben, the very successful softball pitcher that also played professional baseball in 1943. The Biggar team photo was sourced by Beatrice Blaikie Gray and the coach in the photo is Nelson Ruddell. What’s interesting is that the softball team from Saskatoon led by Muriel Coben in 1946 & 47 won provincials as well as western Canadian’s. With that in mind, the Biggar Royal’s must have been pretty competitive as well."
