Arcola Presbytery was one of the original 16 presbyteries established by the first General Council of the United Church of Canada (June 1925), to be part of the new Saskatchewan Conference. Initial boundaries were based on the previous Arcola Presbytery, which had been part of the Presbyterian Synod of Saskatchewan. Prior to 1925, there had also been an Arcola District, in the Methodist Saskatchewan Conference.

In 1951, Arcola and Estevan Presbyteries amalgamated and became Arcola-Estevan Presbytery.

AOTS (As One That Serves) is a men’s organization, drawing its membership from the United Church while maintaining an independent organizational and financial structure. It began within Methodist congregations of Vancouver in 1923, and remained a fully independent operation as it spread across the country, finally adopting a Nation Association of AOTS Clubs in 1947. As the organization grew within United Church congregations there arose a confusion concerning its relationship to the church and the United Church Men. In 1954 AOTS became a department of the newly-constituted Board of Men. In September 1959 the first National Association AOTS Men’s Clubs was constituted.

In 1963, the Conference United Church Men’s Council (a new structure at Conference and Presbytery levels), with all men’s club work being the responsibility of a Men’s Club Committee of the Council. The AOTS National Council become the Men’s Club Committee if the Board of Men. With the 1971 creation of the Division of Mission in Canada, the Board of Men was dissolved and AOTS was on its own, although it retained a connection with the new Division. A new constitution in 1975 reverted to the name ‘National Council of the United Church AOTS Men’s Clubs’ (dropping the title ‘Men’s Club Committee’), while at the regional level the Conference and Presbytery Men’s Club Committees returned to Conference and District Councils of United Church AOTS Men’s Clubs.

Abernethy-Yorkton Presbytery was created in 1953, through the merging of Yorkton Presbytery and part of Abernethy Presbytery (east of Highway 35). In 1956, Abernethy-Yorkton amalgamated with Kamsack Presbytery and the resulting body returned to the earlier name, Yorkton Presbytery.

In 1953, the pastoral charges in Abernethy Presbytery were divided and moved to other presbyteries: Nokomis Pastoral Charge was added to Saskatoon Presbytery; other charges located west of Highway 35 were reassigned to Regina Presbytery; and the charges east of Highway 35 were moved to Yorkton Presbytery, which was re-named Abernethy-Yorkton Presbytery.

Tyvan Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Arcola Presbytery, with appointments at Tyvan, Latham and Osage. By 1966, only Tyvan, Osage and Talmage were part of the charge and, around 1967, it appears to have closed, with Osage joining Fillmore Pastoral Charge. (Osage would later become part of Prairie Points Pastoral Charge, before the church itself closed, in 2007.)

Tuxford Pastoral Charge was formed as a self-sustaining United Church field in 1925, part of Moose Jaw Presbytery, with appointments at Tuxford, Buffalo Lake, Pioneer and Huron. Prior to this, it had been a Presbyterian pastoral charge. By 1932, the charge consisted of Tuxford, [Lake] Huron and Marquis preaching points. Tuxford Pastoral Charge was no longer listed by 1958 and, as of 1962, the Tuxford preaching point had joined Marquis and Keeler as part of Marquis Pastoral Charge.

Tugaske Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Moose Jaw Presbytery and containing just the Tugaske preaching point.

Between 1946 and 1951, Tugaske and Eybrow Pastoral Charges amalgamated to form Tugaske-Eyebrow Pastoral Charge, with appointments at Bridgeford, Brownlee, Eskbank, Eyebrow, and Tugaske. Lake Valley was added around 1965 and Keeler around 1982. Brownlee amalgamated with Keeler in 1986 and eventually closed, on June 30, 1996.

The charge amalgamated with Central Butte Pastoral Charge, on July 1, 2007, forming the new Spirit Hills Pastoral Charge.

Togo Pastoral Charge was created ca.1926, as a new self-sustaining United Church field in Kamsack Presbytery, with appointments at Runnymeade, Myler, Alva, and Togo. By the 1950s, the charge had been re-named Togo-Makaraoff Pastoral Charge, including points at Grand Narrows, Poplar Point, Makaroff, and Togo. Around 1965, the Togo point joined Kamsack Pastoral Charge, which was later re-named Kamsack-Togo Pastoral Charge. The preaching point at Togo was closed June 30, 2005.

Theodore Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge around 1926, as part of Yorkton Presbytery. Initially, the charge included preaching points at Theodore, Creekside and Beaverdale. By 1951, the charge contained preaching points at Creekside, Jedburgh, Theodore, Sheho and Springside, and had been re-named Theodore-Sheho Pastoral Charge. The name reverted back to Theodore Pastoral Charge by 1958. Willowbrook was added to preaching points, until it closed ca.1982.

Sometime before 1994, the charge was re-named Theodore-Springside Pastoral Charge, reflecting the remaining preaching points at St. Paul's United Church (Theodore) and Springside. On December 15, 2018, the Springside point was officially closed and the charge returned to the name Theodore Pastoral Charge.
