This fonds contains a number of files concerning the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), including the activities and research projects of the Veterinary Infectious Diseases Organization (VIDO), the 1976 Study of Veterinary Manpower in Canada, computer assisted Animal Health Management, and the Preventive Medicine Committee: the latter two specifically concerning the establishment of a herd health data laboratory and disease control programs. In addition, there are several files related to Professor Nielsen's involvement with the Institute for Northern Studies (INS), the President's Advisory Council on Programs for People of Native Ancestry, game ranching in the north, and the Arctic Training Centre at Rankin Inlet. There is a considerable amount of material concerning the Environmental Advisory Council, and specifically, the Churchill River inquiry, Key Lake, the Environment 80 Report, and an uranium pollution control policy. It also contains some material concerning the establishment of a zoo at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm

and his staff. There is also large collection of press clippings, supplemented by press clippings gathered by the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.

This fonds contains records generated outside Dr. Spinks' tenure as President of the University of Saskatchewan. The material deals with the Canada West Foundation, the Chemical Institute of Canada, nuclear energy, Gas and Oil Conservation Board, National Research Council (NRC), Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), and education at the University of Saskatchewan.

These records generally contain correspondence, minutes, reports, and memoranda; as well as publications and bulletins, and information on various provincial and national associations, societies, or clubs.

The Saskatchewan Homemaker's Clubs subseries contains: Saskatchewan Homemakers Life Membership Books (1940-1972); addresses to the Annual Convention (1933-1967); records from local Homemaker's Clubs; Cash Books; and correspondence, minutes, reports, financial statements, handbooks, press releases and publications relating to the activities of the Association. The Women's Institute subseries contains correspondence, reports, minutes, publications and other records (1971-1986). Included are submissions to the Institute's creative writing competition (1975-1981).

Although these records contain files created by the first five Deans of the College of Agriculture, the majority of the records are from A.M. Shaw, L.E. Kirk, and V.E. Graham. The records include correspondence, minutes, and memoranda regarding both College and, to a lesser extent, University administration; departmental reports, extension activities, addresses, and material relating to national and international agricultural organizations.

This fonds contains reports, correspondence, minutes, blue prints, and a visitor's book regarding the planning for and opening of the Betatron Project. Also included are a CBC film and a four magnetic tapes regarding the opening of the Linear Accelerator. Another subgroup includes meteorological records kept by the department between 1900 and 1968. A third subgroup includes the log books of Dr. Balfour Currie regarding his research of auroras during the Second International Polar Year (1932-1933).

This fonds contains correspondence, annual reports (1942-1986), budget records, committee minutes, and course outlines (1972-1990) relating to all aspects of the administration and activities of the department. Included are a blueprint and files relating to the construction and opening of the W.P. Thompson Biology Building.
