Much of the material deals with aspects of international law, including peace-keeping, the role of the United Nations, Canadian foreign policy, the European Economic Community, and the Organization of American States. There is considerable material on other areas of law as well: the judicial system and selection of judges; human rights; capital punishment; evidence; English law; and legal history, including research on law and institutions in the Northwest Territories, 1869-1905.

This collection contains material obtained by the Committee on Historical Records, established at the University in the early 1940's to obtain historical documents and reminiscences from individuals throughout the province. Although many responses are brief and contain only suggested names of people to be contacted, some replies provide detailed accounts of early settlement and community development. The fonds also contains brief family histories from a class in 1943.

Additionally, there is considerable material on the Medical Research Council, [Royal] University Hospital Board and the various societies and associations to which Dr. Begg belonged.

This fonds contains an annual report for the Extension Division for 1918, various reports including "Good Farming Competitions in Saskatchewan," rules for ploughing match competitions, and a programme for the "Fifth Annual Farm Boy's Camp (1919)." In addition, there is information on the Agriculture Institute of Canada and the Institute of Agrologists, as well as 2 files of material on the Boy Scouts. The majority of the fonds consists of addresses on various topics, including "The Historical Development of Extension in Saskatchewan," "A Successful Example of Co-operative Production," "Field Crop Contests," and "History and Philosophy of Agriculture Extension," as well as talks concerning the Boys' and Girls' Clubs, the Homemakers' Clubs, poultry and field crop improvement, the University, leadership, and adult education. The final file in the fonds concerns the Rayner Memorial Fund, established through the Agricultural Societies Association.

This collection contains biographical material, including an obituary, for Professor Vanterpool; it also contains two articles written following the death of Professor William Pollock Fraser. There are also a few transcribed notes concerning Professor Vanterpool's research, a history of "The Development of Graduate Research in the Biology Department" (October 1958), a list of graduate students in plant pathology at the U of S, and a compilation of letters and photos from Professor Vanterpool's graduate students given to him upon his retirement. There is also a framed set of six Athletic Association medals from Macdonald College and a framed gold medal from the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, articles by Vanterpool and a photo album.

There is a considerable amount of material from the Restrictive Trade Practices Commission, including transcripts of hearings and exhibits concerning the inquiry into the economic, legal, technological, marketing, and administrative practices of telecommunications companies in Canada.
