This fonds contains two copies of the first issue of the Moose Jaw Times from the scrapbook of Edward Nicholas Hopkins. The end of both copies contains an extract from an address by Edward Nicholas Hopkins to the Dairymen’s Association at Fort Qu’Appelle in March 1896 that was quoted by Percy Reid at the Canary Banquet on March 24, 1929.

This fonds contains correspondence, including that between Dr. and Mrs. Oliver while he was serving overseas as a chaplain during World War I; his diary from travels in Europe between 1908-9; his sermons and prayers, articles, addresses; as well as newspaper clippings concerning: the war, Oliver's position as Moderator of the United Church, book reviews, and obituaries. In addition, there are several manuscripts, including the "Minutes of Council of Assiniboia," "The History of the North West Territories," "James Anderson Fonds," "Roman Economic Conditions to the Close of the Empire," and "The Canadian North West: Its Early Development and Legislative Records;" as well as offprints from the transactions of the Royal Society. -The volume is a ledger that has been also used as a scrapbook; scrapbook contains: table of contents, clippings of movie stars, politicians, poems, "cowboy" images, newspaper clippings, some Swift Current clippings, latest date on a newspaper clipping is 1932 though most are not dated (clippings and pictures are often pasted onto pages that were originally used as a ledger, ca. 1926); after clippings end several of the remaining pages are used as a ledger, 1911 - 1915, records of interactions with businesses, local businesses, and individuals; there is a large number of blank pages, after which there is another ledger, 1909 - 1913, record of interactions with businesses, local businesses, and individuals. The records in the ledger likely pertain to the Alexandra Hotel.
