This fonds contains records mainly related to Sylvia’s time as Lieutenant Governor, with correspondence, invitations, clippings, photographs and memorabilia. It also includes documents from her career as a physicist including correspondence, notes, and clippings. Clippings, photographs, and correspondence relating to Sylvia’s involvement in sports is included – predominantly curling and golf, but also fishing, baseball, basketball, and track and field. There is extensive photography and other materials documenting her travels around the world, as well as gatherings with friends and family.

Bio/historical note: Frederic Harrison Edmunds was born in Hawarden, North Wales in 1898. He received his B.Sc. (1922) and MSc. (1923) from the University of Liverpool. In 1925 he came to Canada and joined the Department of Soils at the University of Saskatchewan. Professor Edmunds was named chairman of the Department of Geological Sciences in 1961, a position he held until his death in February, 1965.

Bio/historical note: Douglas and Wallace Charles of Pleasantdale, Saskatchewan and members of Lac Vert Swine Club produced from fifteen to twenty pigs each year since 1926, and have had sixty to seventy per cent selects.
