Helen Ferguson carved this plaster bust to commemorate Dr. Ferguson's retirement after the pair moved from Fort San to Regina.

Dr. Ferguson wrote The Wood Fairies' Christmas Deed in 1929 for his children. This book was the only fictional work of Dr. Ferguson who maintained his permanent residence at the Sanatorium with his wife Helen, and their 7 children.

This particular edition of Ferguson's work was reprinted in 2014 and was illustrated by Liz Toohey-Wiese.
