Saskatoon Women's Calendar Collective ("Herstory") fonds

This fonds contains material documenting both the administrative history of the Saskatoon Women's Calendar Collective (SWCC), and the Collective's research work in Canadian women's history. The administrative records include minutes, financial records, and correspondence; the research data includes newspaper clippings, articles, notes on interviews, and correspondence. Additionally, this fonds contains a substantial number of photographs, including portraits of individual women and documentary images.

These postcards are printed photographs (not real photo) images of the University of Saskatchewan campus, and Saskatoon, taken during the 1940s. The postcards have not been used: each is identified with a “negative number” on the back, although the photographer is not known. It is assumed these were a reference set, from which orders for more postcards could be made. They are in pristine condition and provide exceptionally clear images of early University buildings, such as the original Veterinary Medicine building and the student-built “New Medical College,” as well as rare images of Saskatoon, including the Bessborough Hotel gardens and views of bridges from the road.

Fonds consists primarily of copies of World War Two diaries maintained by the Saskatoon Light Infantry, January 1940 to December 1944. The diaries generally include a summary of events and information for each day of the month; battalion orders part I relating to movement orders, security, protocol, etc.; part II orders listing names of regiment members under a number of different headings (strength increase/decrease, leaves, honours and awards, etc.); and field returns of officers. A few diaries include photographs. The fonds also includes a scrapbook, notebooks with lists of SLI members, the honour roll, lists of SLI members (including casualties) prepared after the war, and memoirs by Howard Mitchell, W.F. This fonds consists of records documenting Saskatoon Gateway Players' productions since its inception, including b&w headshots of the actors, numerous on-stage photographs of most productions, videos of some performances, programmes, brochures and posters, as well as administrative records of the organization such as board minutes and financial records. The fonds also includes copies of the Saskatoon Gateway Players newletter "The Prompter," newclippings, and an electronic database containing the production's dates, titles, actors, production crew, and season board members.

The Saskatchewan Homemaker's Clubs subseries contains: Saskatchewan Homemakers Life Membership Books (1940-1972); addresses to the Annual Convention (1933-1967); records from local Homemaker's Clubs; Cash Books; and correspondence, minutes, reports, financial statements, handbooks, press releases and publications relating to the activities of the Association. The Women's Institute subseries contains correspondence, reports, minutes, publications and other records (1971-1986). Included are submissions to the Institute's creative writing competition (1975-1981).

Saskatchewan Aids Network (SAN) fonds

This fonds consists of materials used, created, and accumulated by the Saskatchewan AIDS Network. The records primarily detail SAN’s interactions with local, provincial, national, and international HIV/AIDS groups. These records include membership information, correspondence, and workshop/conference materials (i.e. agendas, programs, presentations) created by organizations of which SAN was a member. There is some material pertaining to SAN’s operations in this fonds but most of the operational records are related to SAN’s program-delivery (i.e. organizing conventions, workshops, or training). There are few records relating to the administration and internal operation of SAN in this fonds. A large portion of the fonds is HIV/AIDS resource materials that have been gathered by SAN. This includes pamphlets, publications, articles, newsletters, and information sheets from a variety of non-profit organizations and government ministries.

It provides documentation both of his highly regarded Tissue Culture Course as well as various international symposia to which he contributed. The University of Saskatchewan material includes files from both R. Altschul and J. Jackson, early heads of the department of anatomy, and includes background material and reports for various University studies in which Fedoroff participated.
