Isoclinal folding

Isoclinal folding. Strata - folds - valleys, at great Fish River, Southwest Africa, resemble the Schiefergebirge. The gorge cuts across light and dark, once horizontal, strata that were bent downward into synclines (left) and upward into anticlines (right), beautifully exposed. Cloos, 1954, p1. 42.
