Ellesmere Gr. Looking northwest toward sandstones at north of the mouth of the tributary canyon

Ellesmere Gr. Looking northwest from fly camp 63 K 52 toward sandstones at the north of the mouth of the tributary canyon. Both sandstones dip steeply to the east (right in picture). The light yellowish-grey sandstonw to the left is regarded as uppermost part of Pm 2 unit of photogeological mosaic or Pma unit of field mapping. The darker yellowish-brown sandstone to the right, which overlies the light yellowish sandstone, is basal Bjorne. In front of both sandstones is a fault separating them from Eureka Sound beds in foreground.

Ellesmere Gr. looking southwest into thrust fault at station 63 K 95 where Palaeozoic limestone is thrust over Tertiary Eureka Sound carbonaceous beds. The thrust plane dips at 40 degrees. Locally the Eureka Sound beds are folded unver the thrust plane.
