Sequence in the development of a kame terrace. Ice wasting from an irregular topography lingers longest in the valleys. While the ice still partially fills one of these valleys, outwash may be deposited between it and the valley walls. The final disappearance of the ice leaves the outwash in the form of terraces along the sides of the valley (Leet and Judson, 1958, p. 249).
