His teaching career started as a demonstrator raising to Full Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy in 1964, a post he held until 1987. Dr. Fedoroff also served as Assistant Dean of Medicine, in charge of undergraduate studies, from 1970-1972. The U of S honoured Dr. Fedoroff in 1984 with a DSc and named him Professor Emeritus upon his retirement in 1992. In addition to many executive and organizing positions of several national and international organizations, he served as president for: the Canadian Association of Anatomists (1966-1967); the Tissue Culture Association (1968-1972); the Pan American Association of Anatomy (1972-1975); the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies (1978-1979); the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies (1978-1979); the Tissue Culture History Society (1986-1987).
